Back in February, Deep sent 5 representatives to South Korea to challenge 5 fighters from Black Combat. While champions Oshima and Ohara emerged victorious, Black Combat ended up going 3-2 in the series. Now, the two promotions are set to clash again just 7 months later on September 18th. However, this time Deep will have the home field advantage since it’ll be taking place at Deep 115 in Tokyo, Japan at the famed Korakuen Hall. At Deep 114, 4 of Deep’s champions joined Saeki in the cage to make the announcement, Shingo Suzuki (Welterweight), Koichi Ishizuka (Interim Bantamweight), Juri Ohara (Lightweight), and Saori Oshima (Microweight and Atomweight).
With 7 Deep vs Black Combat fights scheduled, 3 Deep representatives haven’t been announced yet, however it is worth noting that Megaton champ Sakai did ask to be considered after his win on Sunday. Also, Black Combat informed Deep that Black Combat belts will be up in 2 of the 9 matches on the event, leading to speculation on which fights might be title bouts. This will be Black Combat’s first excursion out of Korea and even though they don’t have a PPV system in play, the event will be viewable at movie theaters throughout South Korea. With the amount of fun promotion that took place before the first event, it seems only likely that something similar will happen for this Japan show. In fact, Saeki has already announced that the fighters will be staying at the Tokyo Dome Hotel, where the weigh-ins are also set to take place.
The Youtube savvy Black Combat has already released a video promoting the event, titled Code Name: Japan Invasion.
