On Sunday, October 17th, Deep held back-to-back events at the Shinjuku Face in Tokyo, Japan. Recently, Deep has been working to develop a new generation of fighters and that was on full display with these two events. Aside from the veteran Yasuko Tamada, the events were filled with young talent. In fact, 20 of the 30 participating fighters had 4 or less fights going into the weekend. On the men’s side of things, Taisei Nishitani, Hiroya, and Miyajima all looked like fan favorites, winning their fights and getting good reactions from the crowd. It especially looked like Miyajima had a lot of supporters during the evening event. On the women’s side, the Dutch prospect Anouk defeated Saki in a tightly contested bout, Moeri Suda used a high pace and aggression to defeat Otoha, Aya Murakami submitted the previously untapped Yasuko Tamada, and Aira Koga showed that Eru Takebayashi still has some training to do on the ground.
