Rizin Fundraiser

Like many companies, Rizin has suffered financially as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. Having to cancel several shows, Rizin President Sakakibara took to Youtube to announce the issues they were suffering. In order to help stabilize things, a crowdfunding campaign was started, with the goal of raising 50,000,000 Yen (roughly $470,000). To date, they have reached 32,951,363 Yen (roughly $309,965.65) , about 65% of their goal. As part of the campaign, pure support plans and rewards were offered. While some of the rewards were offered later, i.e. Ayaka Hamasaki whose fight was just announced, this in some ways allowed us to see the who were the breakout stars of Rizin.

What this campagin illustrated, is that Asakura Mikuru and Tenshin are stars. Mikuru and Tenshin’s signed T-Shirts sold out immediately. In addition, Mikuru’s signed fight worn shorts and Tenshin’s signed glove also sold quite quickly regardless of the high price tags. The Tenshin and Mayweather signed glove, is the highest priced reward to attract a buyer at 2,000,000 Yen.

In addition to Mikuru and Tenshin, three other fighters also sold out of their signed T-shirts, which carry a heavy price tag of 30,000 Yen. Kanna sold all of her shirts and the shirts signed by both Kai and Ogikubo also sold out.
