Oshima defends tomorrow at Deep 110

Tomorrow, at the famed Korakuen Hall just outside the Tokyo Dome, Deep will hold their first of 8 events scheduled through the remainder of the year. Deep 100 Impact will feature 3 title fights, 8 Rizin veterans, and popular veterans like Daisuke Nakamura and Kitaoka. In the main event, Seika Izawa’s fiancee Coro will attempt to defend his title against Koichi Ishizuka, who, like the champion, is riding a 4 fight win streak. Elsewhere on the card, Kitaoka, who previously retired, returns to action and will look to snap a 6 fight losing streak that includes 4 stoppages.

In the sole women’s bout of the night, two division champion Saori Oshima is set to defend her Microweight title against the popular Mizuki Furuse. Following her victory over Miyuu Yamamoto, Oshima made it clear that she wanted to return to Microweight, where she isn’t at such a size disadvantage, so this booking was fairly predictable, especially with Aya Murakami competing at Atomweight now and Amp the Rocket’s lack of activity. Furuse for her part has rebounded from 3 straight losses and now has won 2 in a row.

Ahead of the fight, Oshima told the media, “For more than two years, I’ve fought at a higher weight, so I’m really excited to fight at my natural weight for the first time in a long time. I’m going to to do my best tomorrow so please support me.” Furuse stated, “I’ve come one step closer to becoming a champion, which has been my goal for a long time. Tomorrow, I’ll put on a performance as good as the other title matches and become a champion. Thank you for your support”
