Pancrase 324: Karen makes it 4-0, Hashi crowned Interim Champ

On Sunday, a day filled with mixed martial arts action throughout Japan, two women’s matches went down at Pancrase 324, located at the Studio Coast in Tokyo. Both of these matches involved a member of the newly formed Team Pravajra. First to fight was Karen, who faced Kotomi Shintani who was making her Pancrase debut. Karen made quick work of it, getting Kotomi against the cage and landing several slashing elbows, which opened a cut over Kotomi’s eye. Former fighter and current referee Windy Tomomi quickly waved it off afterwards at 1:39 of the first round (Fight video).

Later on, in the co-main event, Karen’s teammate Nøri faced Takayo Hashi for the interim flyweight championship. Nøri found most of her success in the 1st round, where she landed a variety of kicks including a switch kick. However, in the later rounds, Hashi was consistently able to get her down, where she landed ground and pound and went for submissions. Even when Nøri managed to land effective kicks later, Hashi was usually able to use them to get the fight to the ground. Hashi won via UD and is now the interim flyweight champion.

At the moment, both members of Team Pravajra are ranked as the number 1 contenders in their respective divisions.
