Earlier today, JMOC released the scoring breakdowns from Rizin 42 and Landmark 5. As we noticed after NYE, while damage is worth the most points, it is rarely awarded. One has to really damage your opponent to get those points. Looking at Rizin 42, one judge did award Archuleta damage points, which is likely due to him staggering Inoue with a punch in the 2nd. While all three judges did not award damage points, it seems that something equivalent to staggering or dropping your opponent is when you will be awarded damage points, if you also don’t take any damage yourself.
